Louis has always had an avid interest in dog handling, grooming and presentation and he won the coveted KUSA National Adult Handler Award in 2003 and 2010. Over the years, Louis has handled a variety of breeds to tremendous success during their campaigns, including multiple Best in Shows and Top 10 All-Breed rankings. In 2010, Louis's Whippet "Mia" (MBIS Ch. Jesrae Take A Chance at WhiteSquall) was awarded KUSA National Dog and #1 All-Breeds in 2012. He handled the first Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch to win an All-Breeds Best in Show in South Africa and won a total of 5 Best in Shows for the same kennel with 3 different Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Louis is the breeder of the top winning Gundog/Sporting Dog of all-time in South Africa, #1 All-Breeds in 2017 and 2018, a Pointer male, Multi BIS Gr Ch. WhiteSquall Seasyde Olivero “Oliver”. His litter sister was the Top Pointer Bitch in 2018 in the UK winning the Group at Bath Championship Show. In 2022 he won #1 All-Breeds with a homebred English Springer Spaniel. Louis commenced judges training in 2002 and qualified as a Licenced Judge for all Gundog Breeds (FCI Group 7 & 8, AKC Sporting Group) in 2008, eligible to award CC, CAC and CACIB in all the recognised FCI breeds. Louis is currently the youngest All-Breeds Judge in South Africa and has since extensively judged breeds in various groups in South Africa, Australia (Brisbane & Melbourne), Pakistan, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, United States of America, Mexico and Israel. |
