Biography |

I started out in dogs from the age of ten, we had
racing greyhounds. I used to train these before and
after school. When I moved out and got married I
saw some Cavalier King Charles spaniels and liked
the look of them. I did a bit of research into the
breed and breeders. I then went to one of the top
breeders in Ireland at that time. He didn’t show
Cavaliers, he was just interested in the breed. I
bought two female blenheims, one of them was
my first champion, and I was hooked from then on.
I am only a small kennel and only breed whenever I
want another Cavalier to show for myself. My other
interests are fly fishing and indoor short mat bowls. I have been in dogs for 40 years, breeding and showing. I have bred and made up over 20 Champions in Ireland. I have also bred Champions in England, Japan and AKC.CKCSC.USA. My Cavaliers have won Best in Show at All Breed Championship Shows and many group 1’s. I have also won many Best in Shows at Cavalier Club Shows. My Glencross Cavaliers have won The Cavalier Pup of the Year numerous times. Some wins I have achieved are as follows: Best in show with three different dogs at All Breed Championship Shows in Ireland. And a Best in show at a cavalier club show in England. Another accolade I have won (nobody in Ireland has ever done this) is to win at the Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales Cavalier Club Shows, with the same bitch in the same year - CH and Irish CH Glencross Kerrywood. I have also won Best Puppy in Show 4 times at All Breed Championship Shows, with 4 different puppies - this has never been done before. I have been the Top Breeder in Ireland 2013 ,14,15, 16, showing only 2 dogs in this time. CH and International CH Glencross De Ja Vu has been the Top cavalier in Ireland for last 4 years. He is also the breed record holder. I have also represented the Cavalier Club at the Irish Kennel Club. I have judged All Toys and Toy Group. I have judged Cavaliers in England, Wales, Norway, Belgium and USA (CMW & CNC). |
